Santiago Stelley Fernandez

Head of Production SH of VICE CHINA


Santiago Stelley has joined VICE China as the Head of Production. He is also the founder of children’s media startup 75 EAST BROADWAY. For over 15 years Santiago has spearheaded content strategy, development and production for some of the world’s most innovative media brands.

Most recently at VICE Media in New York, Santiago joined the magazine in 2006 and led the company’s transition to video as the first in-house producer, Content Director of VBS.TV (2007-2010) and Creative Director of VICE Media (2010-2012.) Over six years, Santiago produced and directed more than 100 VICE documentaries, developed dozens of original series, and oversaw creative for all branded content productions. Santiago’s role extended across all VICE properties, territories and disciplines, launching new platforms –Motherboard, The Creators Project, Noisey–, opening new offices in Mexico, Brazil, China, South Korea, Japan and Europe, and overseeing editorial direction for television productions with MTV and HBO. During this time, Santiago helped VICE grow to over 800 employees, more than 3,500 contributors, 20 global editions and a valuation of $1.4 billion in 2013.

Before VICE, Santiago spent six years working with COLORS Magazine –the humanistic quarterly publication about “the rest of the world” created by Oliviero Toscani and Tibor Kalman. At COLORS Santiago produced groundbreaking journalism and helped develop the magazine’s earliest digital presence, as well as documentary film productions.
