Agnese FONTANA

Jorge has been a member of the content team at Curiosity Inc. since the company's launch in 2014. Prior to joining Curiosity, Jorge spent the early years of his career working in the field on a variety of broadcast and commercial projects, ranging from news, to live events, to returning series for a variety of networks and broadcasters. His roles included Assistant Director, Producer, Editor, and Sound Engineer. He was also a producer and member of one of the earliest digital media companies specializing in streaming content.

 

Jorge obtained his B.A. in Communications with a focus on digital media from the University of Maryland University College, and completed the Digital Filmmaking program at Boston University’s Center for Digital Imaging Arts.

He also currently serves on the Board of Directors for World Congress of Science and Factual Producers, as well as a member of the Jackson Wild Action Coalition.


Jorge FRANZINI

Imamura entered NHK in 1983. He was the series editor of the slot “World Documentary” from 2009 until 2012. Since 2012 he has been working with NHK Enterprises and is in charge of co-production, pre-buy, and commission of TV programs mainly documentaries. While continuing his work at NHK Enterprises, he also established Studio IMAKEN LLC in 2022 and works as an independent producer. He is one of the founders of Tokyo Docs which started in 2011.

As the producer of NHK or NHK Enterprises, he supported many Asian documentaries such as Plane of Snail (Best feature-length documentary, IDFA 2011), The Chinese Mayor (Special Jury Prize, Sundance 2015), Kabul, City in the Wind, After the Rain (2021), Organic Terrorist (2023).


IMAMURA Kenichi

As Conference Director of the World Congress of Science & Factual Producers and interim co-executive director of Hot Docs, Paul has more than three decades of broadcasting, programming, and production experience.  Prior to Congress, he was President and General Manager of Discovery Networks in Canada where he was responsible for day-to-day operations for all its channels, business and strategic planning and running a production and distribution division.  He created the world’s first daily science magazine show, launched new networks, created multi-platform content initiatives, live programs, and award-winning documentary series that have been distributed around the world.   He also created strategic partnerships with international networks such as NHK and CCTV.  Paul is a judge, speaker and panelist at international markets and documentary festivals and is the consultant-in-chief for the Guangzhou International Documentary Festival.  He also executive produces various science documentaries including most recently The Science of Success, a Canadian-Australian co-production, and The Teenager and the Lost Maya City for the CBC, Canada’s public broadcaster. 

Paul LEWIS

 Vikram first joined Discovery in 1995, he has taken on various roles within the company from 

on-air promotions to programming and production. As a senior management team member for the region, together with his team, he executive produced over 1,200 documentaries, and around 100 hours of the shows are on air through Discovery global networks every year. Among those products, China: Time of Xi, The Very Edge of China, The Day I Ran China, Master Class, Tears of the Dragon, The Next Pandemic: Are We Ready Yet, How China Works, China by Numbers, Can Video Games Change the World, etc. have won high reputation both nationwide and worldwide. Vikram was nominated for the 2016 International Emmy Award, he is the winner of more than 18 Asia Television Awards and Asian Academy Creative Awards since 2003, and he was also awarded in Oscar, Promax, New York 

Festival, The Telly Awards, Omni Intermedia, etc. Vikram is an academic advisor forTsinghua 

University and an adjunct professor for Beijing Normal University.


Vikram CHANNA

Chen Keyang is a producer of Bilibili Documentary Production Center. She specializes in feature length documentary production. She formerly worked in the Strategy Development Department of Tencent. She graduated from Peking University with a Bachelor's degree in Management and Psychology. She received her Master's degree in Social Policy & Practice from the University of Pennsylvania.

CHEN Keyang

Ruby CHEN is the Co-Founder and CEO of the non-profit CNEX Foundation Limited, the CEO of CNEX Studio. She is a member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) and the selection committee of documentary films for the Oscars. She was invited to be Distinguished Professor, School of Film Art, China Academy of Art in 2021.

Ruby CHEN

Born in Beijing, 1965, now lives in Hong Kong. Nearly 30 years experiences as a journalist and TV professional. Graduated from Beijing Broadcasting Academy (now China Media University) July of 1989, with a BA in International Journalism, from 1993-1995, educated at Waseda University, Japan, majored in Film Studies. And obtained a EMBA degree from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2016. He served in CCTV commentary department; joined Phoenix TV in 2002 as senior program manager, later on as director of Dept. of Current Affairs & Specials, deputy head of Phoenix Chinese Channel/ Director of Chief Editor’s Office/ head of Phoenix Movie Channel.. Juror and decision-maker of numerous documentary festivals and pitching forums worldwide.

HUANG Haibo

Documentary director, dedicate to produce economic, financial, nature and civilization documentaries for the purpose of dissemination of knowledge.  Now I mainly focusing on the general public in China and maybe the people in other parts of the world  in the future. The purpose of our team is to show the science vividly in documentaries.

LI Dongshen

Ms. Li Mian is responsible for carrying out all variety of businesses as the director of International Communication Center under Intercontinental Communication Center. With rich experiences in documentary planning and production, she has won several international and domestic awards. The International Communication Center is engaged in roughly introducing China from perspectives of natural history, culture, science and technology and social life with images. It proactively promotes the construction of "Belt and Road" media communication union by expanding communication channels, and carries out in-depth cooperation with the media of countries along Silk Road in setting up the programme called USILK, which has broadcasted by 25 mainstream TV stations of key cooperation countries and regions along "the Belt and Road" with more than 500,000,000 audiences over more than 40 countries. It also works with discovery channels of international mainstream media to produce brand programmes The Magic of China and jointly produces China Revealed with National Geographic. It also carries out activities in broadcasting, releasing, exhibiting and promoting China themed films and TV shows overseas.

LI Mian

Graduated from University of London with degrees in film directing and producing, Cecilia has been working in the film and television industry for more than a decade. Before joining National Geographic, Cecilia has worked on a series of acclaimed films, TV series and documentary programs as director/producer/TV presenter for CCTV-6, Ruyi Films and Fox Networks Group. As production producer of National Geographic, Cecilia has produced numerous documentaries including  Return to Zai Tun,Lost Beats: Dunhuang, Green Heroes: Challenging the desert, China: Reinventing lives, Gaokao 2020: China’s Great Exam, “Tracing Heritage 3”and“A Cycling Diary in China” etc.
